Now John’s wander, if you recall is my experiences as a purchaser of crafts and looking if we can take any lessons from that to help you induce your organizations better. And of course, in my capacity as a business coach for commerces business owners So recently we had called to hire a .It was a few small jobs: sounds are dripping, toilet is dripping during the night, the hot water, They’re really bloody sizzling actually, needing one of those valves that represents it not so red-hot So simple stuff. I announced my friend Patrick. I know he works as a . He made a recommendation. We called the guy, did a little of jiggery-pokery, organizing, formatting dates and terms for him “re coming” and have a look. He come on, had a lovely chat, accompanied around the house, and “ve been given” a oral $350, that kind of number.We booked in a term and then fiddled about with the time again. I didn’t really thoughts that. It’s a small task. I said it wasn’t urgent. I work from residence so I’m always here. So I didn’t really care that it get shifted. The daytime comes. Somebody else comes. Not the chap I’ve met, but all persons. This would be alright but he didn’t say. It didn’t matter because he was also nice. We chatted, he said, I hear you need some sounds and a bathroom drips and I told him basically, telling him what the run I required doing again even though Ive justified it formerly. That was a bit odd. Anyway, he does the work and off he goes. Michelle comes home, my partner and says, He’s forgotten the tap in the laundry. Its still dripping. I had to call up the first person, left him a message.He mail me a text. The second guy came again and did the tap that he forgotten. Job done. I got a text saying, What’s your email address? I got an email for the statute and I’ve had no from the boss. No apology that says, We forgot the job. No reassurance that I’m not getting a charge with an extra. Nothing. So I get my money. It’s greater than what I was paraphrased, $450 not $300. Not enough to upset me , not clear on the proposal whether I’ve paid off their f ** kup and I’m not bothered enough to follow it up. Michelles a bit bothered. She’s told our friend Patrick. So what’s the lesson? The exercise is Jon can’t be bothered.He doesn’t like ringing beings up and saying You made a mistake. I don’t care enough to want to do that. But I probably won’t announce him next time I crave a hassle done, despite the fact that he was nice. Because he was a bit disorganized. He didn’t use plans. He didn’t communicate. And I picture These are the important readings that I want to say to you. You need plans in your business that can avoid this stuff happening. He should have written down what I wanted to do. He should have given me a written excerpt. It doesn’t take longer and longer. His guy should have turned up with a written work order or profession poster, or on personal computers, iPad, or on a phone, or whatever. Then I should have gotten my mention, my premium, my debit that was based on the quote knowing the direct had been done because he clicked it all off. It should have gone smoothly with some train like that, and it didn’t. So the consequences aren’t dire, but I probably won’t call him again and I probably won’t direct him to your best friend because it was a bit rubbish.So being the first reading and being the second largest. Given that he made a mistake, wasn’t disciplined, or was a bit slack and didn’t do what he should have done, He probably should have called me and said, Sorry about that Jon and reassured me that I wasn’t compensating additional or whatever. And he didn’t do that either because he’s a bit chicken and again not disciplined, he didn’t have a system. So get your in place. This is my entreaty to you as a business coach. Write structures, use the technology use checklists, be trained in your dealings with people. Don’t tour, “How about $300 ” then send a bill for $450. Have a system and do not allow your people to forget to do work. Don’t frame it on me to make sure you don’t forget to do work. We wrote it down once and we shouldnt have written it down further. I shouldn’t have to go through it twice with you and make persons responsible for stimulating sure you don’t forgotten to do the job that I’ve asked you to do and I’m paying to do.That’s not fair. It’s not good customer services. Put arrangements in your business. Be trained. Be penalty around this nonsense around your interactions with purchasers. Write things down and use the technology. And of course, this is what I do. I’m a business coach. I help people implement so they’re changing, scaling and inducing more coin.
